I Tried It: Mikey’s Paleo English Muffins

Mikey's Muffins

I tried Mikey’s muffins over the Summer and became completely smitten with them. They were delicious and had great texture. My local Wal-Mart only had the cinnamon raisin variety, but I did not mind one bit as this tends to be my favorite flavor anyway.

I purchased them with my expectations set low. In fact, I figured I wouldn’t like them at all. I am so glad that I was wrong.

I chose to keep them in the fridge instead of the freezer as the instructions say that they should be defrosted before consuming. When I was ready to enjoy one, I placed in my toaster for a medium toasty cycle {these are technical terms, people}. Afterward, I either slathered them with all natural peanut butter or a smidge of regular ole butter. Either way, they were quite tasty and filling and perfect for either breakfast or a snack.

A couple of drawbacks: They are kind of pricey and only bring four muffins per pack. In addition, they are a little difficult to find. I checked the more popular of our two Wal-marts and they didn’t even carry them. When I went to the less popular, further away Wal-Mart, they only had the cinnamon raisin one. That being said, I would definitely purchase these again and would recommend them to anyone trying to lead a Paleo or low-carb lifestyle. They are a great alternative to good old fashioned English muffins and it is way easier {and cheaper} than trying to make them on your own.
